- The Law Centre gave advice to nearly 4000 people and their families in the period April 2007 to March 2008
- 1287 case files were opened; a 47% increase on the previous 12 months, and 100% more than in the 12 months before that. The 1287 cases were split between the main areas of law as follows

- Housing issues accounted for 35% of our work, Welfare Benefits was 33% and Debt 30%.
- Of the 1287 cases opened, 97 were not eligible for legal aid. This figure represents a 136% increase on last year. We were delighted to be able to still help these clients with the funding from Swindon Borough Council and it just shows how important it is for advice agencies like ours to have the support of their local Councils.
- We closed 906 cases (70% of the total) and carried 381 open cases through to April 2008. This number of open cases represents a 243% increase on the previous year, and reflects to a large degree the increased complexity of each case.
- Between April 2007 and March 2008 we recovered benefits worth £424000 for clients; a 41% increase on last year.
- The Law Centre continues to exceed its contractual targets as set by the Legal Services Commission.
